Biography (from his Facebook group) :
Robert Parliament, stage name known as (X-State) or (Spit Jr.).
Since grade 8, people would tease me about my style and also the way
i would dress. I, in grade 8, would always have an mp3 player
everywhere i went, since i was an early bird at age 10, or 11, i had
first listened to Eminem And also listened to 50 Cent and Dr. Dre.
In grade 9 one summer i would get into the music so much that i
wanted to rap, but it wasn't an easy go for me. The first time i
wanted to rhyme i focused so hard, i remembered having a pen, or a
pencil with me, plus a sheet of paper, also i had my mp3 player with
me; i would never go any where with out it, i looked down and wrote
something, i erased it, and then gave up after a minute. Then after
summer, in my high school years, i was then bugged again by everyone
around me, bullied to extent of almost suicide; arguments with
parents, moving back and forth, drama in everyday life at school.
After grade 10 i had then picked up my first electrical guitar, i
remembered it like it was yesterday, i bought it straight from the
hock shop, i was surprised that i could learn, without any lessons
but the internet, that i had learned tabs off of the net. I then got
into covering songs and singing, with an old school karaoke machine
and a dollar store microphone. I was surprised that it worked for a
dollar, but, what ever works. I then began to pick up on depression,
as everyone around me had teased. I grew out my hair and dyed it
black and blue. As things were getting lower and lower each day, i
had then got a date for a court hearing. I was sentenced to
probation, after just when he thought things could get any worse, it
had gotten better, i had met a couple brothers that i use to go to
school with and a couple of my sister's, older friends. I came
around to my senses, i had then looked into getting back into rap. I
had shaved my head, and starting rapping at the age of 17, rhyming
over instrumentals, and listening to music everywhere i went, "I had
bought so much CD's that i couldn't stick them into the CD holder
anymore" At age 17, i had bought my own piano and began making
beats, I decided to read books and meet more friends, that's what
inspired me. I couldn't relate to the other genres, but not threw
the way i listen to it. Every day was different for me for the
people around me who didn't know, i got bullied in most of my
classes, but it was the same kids that at the end of the day i would
come home and write about it. Since the day i started rap i realized
looking back, "What in the world was i doing?" I was searching threw
my closet and i had found a bag that i use to wear back in grade
nine, i kinda laughed at it, It had G-Unit written allover it; plus
famous artist's names, i said, where the frig was my talent at? I am
now in the bundle of saving up money, and already had spoke with a
contact from a recording studio. I am going to save my money and pay
for my talent, that's what i want to do, i want to start small and
get out there.
Thank you for reading, much love n respect, X-State.
