It all started in 2005. The band was named Chicken Shit Flower.
Their strongest line up is: Fiar (Drums), Cepi (guitar), Rito
(bass/vocal), Davi (guitar) and Beng (vocal). Chicken Shit Flower
consists of 5 lads arising from South Sumatera Palembang's Sk8BMX
scene called "Lumban" with heart pumping teenage hormones ready to
rock the stage and do all they can to have fun. Chicken Shit Flower
creates a uniquely infectious blend of guitar-mangled,
multi-layered, melodic rock, with occasional metal sound. Actually
it was like laying a big bet by playing punk rock music in Indonesia
and try to make a living out of it. Playing in a punk rock band or
being a part of the (so-called) cutting edge is a super hard job.
They have to try super hard to convince corporate people who have
the money that they can add value to their business. Somehow, in the
early days, the kids still feel strange about what they play. But
they believe that they can pass this test and have a big smile in
the end. First things first; they always write songs that come from
their hearts and try their best to describe themselves (as a band)
in their own original way. And they think its important to keep it
simple so that more and more people can understand what they stand
for. They always try to consistently humble to all people in their
city. Their recent goal was big, hairy and scary; they want to
change the face of the music industry in their country. They're
trying to write down the path for newer bands that they can reach
their dreams if they work for it. Its like providing an intellectual
property so that new young creative bands with a hard working
attitude won't just reinventing the wheel. They would like to see
more kids start to wear band t-shirts, start to skate and believe in
their passion to live their own dreams. Its important to see kids
who are getting into more creative hype and doing their best for
their life and giving something back to their community.
